Zephos, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

Zephos is a flying, blue, frog-shaped wind deity who lives at Dragon Roost Island in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Although he only appears in one short segment of the game, his role is extremely important, as he teaches Link the Wind's Requiem. Zephos is very friendly and encouraging, contrasting his aggressive, vengeful brother Cyclos. His name comes from "zephyr," another word for wind.

Link encounters Zephos at a pair of small monuments on a small islet that can be found through a cave from Dragon Roost Island's main beach. Only one of the monuments is intact and indicates a sequence of directions, which Link must copy with the Wind Waker. After he does so, Zephos flies in, complimenting the breeze the song created. He introduces himself as the god of winds, and recognizes Link as the new Wind Waker. He then tells Link that for a beginner, he is already doing well, and tells him how to use the song. He also cautions Link that wind can sometimes be a bad thing, using Cyclos as an example, who in revenge for his monument's destruction now wreaks havoc with his cyclones. He leaves Link with one request, being to chastise Cyclos for him if he sees him. He then flies off and is not seen again for the rest of the game.
