Gwonam is one of the main characters of Link: The Faces of Evil. He is a magic carpet-riding wizard from the island of Koridai. He has yellow skin, purple and pink clothes, and a long, gray beard. He initially appears having flown to Hyrule Castle to tell King Harkinian of Ganon's takeover of the island, and tells of a prophecy that only Link can save them. He insists Link only bring his sword, saying that there is not enough time to gather his other items, then takes his to Koridai on his carpet, pointing out the various Faces of Evil erected on the island.
In gameplay, Gwonam appears at the various Faces. Hitting him with the Smart Sword prompts him to show Link the upcoming boss and how it is attacking Koridians. In Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon, Impa has a near-identical role. At the end of the game, Gwonam takes Link and Zelda on his carpet and shows them how Koridai is recovering.

- Much like King Harkinian and Morshu, Gwonam has become somewhat infamous in various YouTube videos, most notably YouTube Poops, where he is often treated as a member of the main cast. His "Squadalah! We're off!" and insistence that "There is no time, your sword will be enough" are particularly commonly made fun of.
