- – Link, Link: The Faces of Evil
The Smart Sword is the sword that both Link and Zelda start out with in Link: The Faces of Evil and Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon, respectively. It is used to damage enemies, as well as pick up items and Rubies. The Smart Sword also makes friendly characters talk when struck with it.
Both games feature two upgrades for the Smart Sword. The first is the Power Sword, which allows Link and Zelda to shoot power blasts when at full health. The second is the Magic Sword, which fires power blasts no matter how much health its wielder has.
