Lamp oil? Rope? Bombs? You want it? It's yours, my friend, as long as you have enough Rubies.”
Morshu, Link: The Faces of Evil

Morshu, generically referred to as the merchant in the tutorial and credits, is a portly shopkeeper from Link: The Faces of Evil, appearing in Goronu, one of the starting locations. He sells Link lamp oil, rope, and bombs in exchange for Rubies. If Link attempts to purchase anything when he lacks the required amount of Rubies, Morshu tells him that he "can't give credit" and tells him to come back when he is "mmmm... richer!"

Trivia[edit]

  • Despite having only two short scenes in the game, Morshu gained notoriety as a meme in YouTube videos, notably YouTube Poops, alongside King Harkinian and Gwonam. This likely owes to his particularly over-the-top animations and annunciations, along with being encountered early and appearing in the tutorial. In particular, his exclamation of "Bombs!" and loud hum are often used.
  • Likely due to the above, Morshu's introductory line is alluded to in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, where the completion text for the "Entrance Test" quest for the Military Training Camp says "He said he will train you anytime - as long as you have enough rupees."
