First appearance | The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks |
Spinuts[1] are forest enemies in The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. They resemble large chestnuts with faces, feet, and a spike atop their heads. When they see Link, they quickly waddle in his direction, but they do not take many hits to defeat. They appear in brown and hazel, with the latter being stronger. Brown Spinuts are notably the first enemy encountered on-foot in the game aside from bees, as they are found in the path between Hyrule Castle and the Tunnel to the Tower, where a trio of them is harassing a castle guard. A green Spinut first appears with two brown ones as a miniboss encounter in the Forest Temple. On the second visit to the Tower of Spirits, a particular Spinut holds a key and roams a small grid-like set of halls. It will run quickly in the opposite direction if it sees anyone, so Link and Phantom Zelda need to corner it from both sides. Much later in the game, many green Spinuts can be found outside at the optional Disorientation Station.
