Tanks[1] are enemy vehicles in The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, acting as a terrestrial counterpart to Cannon Boats. Compared to Cannon Boats, they move faster but with less traction. Additionally, they spawn further away from the Spirit Train. Like Cannon Boats, their pursuit is accompanied by the music used for Jolene's pursuit in The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. They start appearing in the Forest Realm and Snow Realm once Link acquires the Freight Car from Goron Village, and typically appear in groups of two or three. Their presence in these two realms can be foretold by the Dark Trains and Armored Trains not being on the map, as they only appear mutually exclusively. Once the Fire Temple is completed, they begin appearing on the mountain in the Fire Realm as well. If a tank hits the train head-on, both vehicles will abruptly stop unharmed. When Link has a passenger after the Pirate's Hideout is cleared, they are sometimes accompanied by a larger Pirate Tank.
