The Magic Lantern is an item that appears in Link: The Faces of Evil and Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon. It is an upgraded Lantern that glows purple and lights up dark areas for 40 seconds, twice as long as its original form.

In Link: The Faces of Evil, the Magic Lantern is obtained in Harlequin Bazaar, where Odranoel crafts it after Link brings him the Ice Crystal from Serigon Caves. In Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon, the Magic Lantern is given to Zelda in Tykogi Tower by Mayor Cravendish, who was able to smuggle it into the prison.

Both games have a separate upgrade for the Magic Lantern that makes invisible enemies visible and removes the Lamp Oil requirement. They are the Lantern of Vision and the Fairy Lantern, respectively.
