Ropes[1] are small snakes with large mouths in Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, appearing in different quantities depending on the regional version of the game. In all versions of the game, red Ropes are an enemy exclusive to the Great Palace. They sit in place while constantly biting, occasionally jumping to shoot a horizontally-moving fireball that can only be blocked with the Reflect magic. In this manner, they are essentially stronger versions of Octoroks.
