Trivia[edit]
- Crosses appear as a general symbol in early installments of the series such as The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, and BS Zelda no Densetsu, typically found on shields and graves. One also notably appears atop the church in the Harbor Town of Mido, which is plain in the NES release and decorative in the Disk System release. While they are not directly seen in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, making a wish with the Book of Mudora involves Link kneeling down and performing a sign of the cross before clasping his hands in prayer. Additionally, artwork exclusive to a Shogakukan guide depicts Link praying to a crucifix. Crosses were shown on tombstones during development of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, but this was revised by the final release. The symbol was altered in subsequent appearances of the Magical Shield and Book of Magic.
