Heatoises,[1] also known as Giant Turtles,[1] are stone-plated giant tortoise enemies found in The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, appearing in the Fire Temple. Their shells are absolutely impenetrable to all of Link's weapons, and they spin at Link in them similar to Snappers from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, though with fire coming from their leg holes. As turtles, they walk very slowly, but if he approaches or tries attacking one with most weapons while it is walking, it will spin at him in retaliation. When they bump into the wall, they may emerge again or spin back towards him.

The first one is encountered as a special miniboss guarding the bow and arrow. To defeat it, the player needs to cause it to spin into one of the two Moldolas circling the arena, temporarily stunning it and allowing its head to be attacked. After a few repetitions of this, it is defeated and Link gets his new weapon. Later in the temple, two appear as a normal miniboss. If one spins into the other, the walking one will hide in its shell for a moment. If they both spin into each other, they will stop and begin walking after Link. To defeat them, Link must use his bow to shoot the blue jewels on their foreheads, stunning them and allowing further attacks. When defeated, they always drop a red Rupee.
