Bits[1] are red gelatinous blobs and enemies in Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. They are related to the slightly-more-powerful Bots.

Bits appear less frequently than Bots and are featured in some of the same locations, such as the surrounding plains around the North Palace and a few caves in the Death Mountain range. They are said to be mindlessly searching for food as they move around.[2] Link can defeat a Bit by striking it twice with his Magical Sword or its sword beam, but due to Bits' small size, this only works when Link is kneeling. The only major difference in behavior with Bits is that they do not jump like Bots do. Link earns 2 EXP by defeating a Bit.

In the original Family Computer Disk System release, Bits appear more often around the North Palace, and Link only obtains 1 EXP from defeating a Bit.
