The Water Town of Saria, also known as Saria Town[1], is a location from Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. This town is located in midwestern Hyrule, just north of Death Mountain, and is built on the shores of a river. The town would later share a name with Saria, a sage from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

History

In the town, Link aids a woman searching for her lost Mirror. As a reward, the woman lets him meet a Wise man who teaches Link the Life spell.

This is one of two towns where the Eyes of Ganon can be located. If Link talks to certain people in the Water Town of Saria, they might turn into an Ache and attack him. Some might just walk away and not turn into a Ache.

Once Link has met Bagu, the river man gives Link permission to use a bridge to cross the river and continue to Death Mountain.

Trivia

  • In the original Famicom release of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, the Water Town of Saria has a grave that says "The hero Loto rests here", which references Loto from Dragon Quest III.[2]
