Hyrule Warriors is a hack-and-slash spinoff title starring The Legend of Zelda characters. It is a collaboration between Koei Tecmo and Nintendo, and features gameplay from the Dynasty Warriors series. Hyrule Warriors was originally released for the Wii U in 2014, but would later be re-released for the Nintendo 3DS in 2016 as Hyrule Warriors Legends and for the Nintendo Switch in 2018 as Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition, which incorporates all the content from both versions of Hyrule Warriors as well as their DLC.
In 2020, a follow-up to Hyrule Warriors was released, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Despite bearing the Hyrule Warriors name, the game has little relation to Hyrule Warriors, and plot-wise it serves as a prequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, a game within the main The Legend of Zelda series.
