Anti-Kirby (plural form: Anti-Kirbies[1]), also known as Kirby[2], is an enemy in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. While stated to be an appearance of Kirby from the Kirby series by Takashi Tezuka,[2] Nintendo Power purports Anti-Kirbies to be Kirby's evil twins.[1] In The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, more than one of them makes an appearance, albeit not seen together. Regardless, they have a nearly identical appearance and the same inhalation ability.
Only two Anti-Kirbies appear in the northern corner rooms on the first floor of Eagle's Tower, where they jump around in random directions. If an Anti-Kirby notices Link, it tries to inhale him into its mouth. If an Anti-Kirby successfully inhales Link, it spits him out a few seconds later, causing Link to lose a heart.
