Link looks at three Red Bombites in
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX
Bombites[1][2], also known as Buzz Bombs[3], are explosive bomb enemies that appear in the Key Cavern in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. They are bombs with two eyes and two feet. Their appearance and behavior are similar to Bob-ombs from the Mario franchise, which themselves appear in The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords and The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap.
A few Bombites usually appear together in an enclosed area, moving around the area slowly. There are two types of Bombites; in the original Game Boy version, they cannot be visually distinguished, although in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX and the Nintendo Switch remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, they can be distinguished from wearing either red or green shoes.
Red Bombites are more common than the green variant. If Link strikes his sword at a Bombite, this causes their fuse to be lit. If Link hits a Red Bombite, it quickly runs around the room in random directions and bounces off the walls. After a few seconds, the red Bombite explodes. There are only three Green Bombites in the game, and each of them appear together in an enclosed room. If Link hits a Green Bombite, it grins and starts to follow him around. Shortly after, the Bombite's face is replaced with a three-second countdown. When the countdown reaches zero, the Green Bombite explodes. Link can avoid the blast by striking the Bombite away with his sword.
Profiles[edit]
Zelda Universe[edit]
"Koholint Island is home to two different kinds of living Bombites. One counts down from three before exploding, and the other ricochets around the room before blowing up."[4]
