The Mega Thwomp[1] is a stone obstacle in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. It is a Thwomp from the Mario franchise. In The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX and the Nintendo Switch remake, it is colored red.
Only one Mega Thwomp appears in the game, in a side-scrolling passage of Key Cavern. It is hanging in midair over a pit of spikes, blocking the path forward. Unlike other Thwomps, Mega Thwomp cannot damage Link because it does not attempt to crush Link if he walks underneath it. To bypass Mega Thwomp, Link must use his Pegasus Boots to charge into it, causing Mega Thwomp to crack slightly and giving it a shocked expression. It then falls onto the pit of spikes. Link can then use the Mega Thwomp as a platform for crossing the spikes. In The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX, when Link charges into Mega Thwomp, it turns blue, although in the Nintendo Switch remake, it stays red when hit.
