Creep

Big Keeses,[1][2] also called Battle Bats[3][4] and Bats,[3] also formatted as bats[1], are a species which are related to Keese which appear in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. They have a black body with two white and green wings. Big Keeses appear during the fight against the Grim Creeper. During the fight when the Grim Creeper plays his piccolo six Big Keeses appear. He then points his piccolo forward, causing the Big Keeses to dive towards Link. Big Keeses can be hit while diving. If six Big Keeses are defeated when they attack, the fight ends. If any Big Keese fly off of the screen when they attack, the fight continues and six Big Keeses appear when the Grim Creeper plays his piccolo again.

On top of the Eagle's Tower two Big Keeses appear above the Grim Creeper. When the Evil Eagle appears the Big Keeses are blown off the screen.

  • In the Player's Guide for The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, it states that Big Keeses are "known as Keese in some regions of Hyrule"[3], despite regular Keeses appearing in the game, and the book later calling them using the Big Keese name.[2] Zelda Universe refers to Big Keeses as a group of Keeses.[4]
