The Travels of Link is on a table in the Camera Shop

The Travels of Link is an optional photo album that only appears in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX, and is located in the Camera Shop. The Travels of Link is where the photographer stores various pictures that he took of Link, starting with one from their first interaction. If Link has not yet talked to the photographer and a certain event occurs that would trigger a photograph, he cannot obtain the photograph for the rest of his adventure.

Link does not take The Travels of Link with him during his adventure, and the album stays in the Camera Shop. After the photographer takes a photo of Link, the photograph briefly appears on-screen. Link can only view the captured photographs again if he returns to the Camera Shop to look at The Travels of Link.

Photographs[edit]

A total of 12 photographs can be added to The Travels of Link. The first photograph has one alternate version, so there are 13 possible photographs. Photographs 2–4 can only be taken if Marin is following Link. After Marin awakens the walrus, the photographer does not capture any of the three photographs if he did not already. For photographs numbered 2, 4, 6, and 10, a brief cutscene plays just before the photographer takes a picture.

1 The Travels of Link photo 1.pngThe Travels of Link photo 1 alt.png When Link first talks to the photographer in the Camera Shop, he asks if he can take Link's photograph. If Link says yes, the photographer takes a picture of Link standing against a curtain giving the peace sign.

Alternatively, if Link refuses a photograph a few times, the photographer forces him against the wall and takes a photograph. It shows a picture of Link beaten up and dizzy.

The photographer calls the picture Here Stands A Brave Man if Link agrees to having his photo taken, or Game Over if he refuses.
2 The Travels of Link photo 2.png Shortly after Link completes the Key Cavern, Marin starts to follow him around. If Link and Marin go to the southwest corner of Toronbo Shores, the photographer takes a picture of them standing at a cliff overlooking the ocean. After taking the picture, the photographer says he will develop it.
3 The Travels of Link photo 3.png The photograph is taken if Link and Marin fall into the well to the west of Mabe Village. The photographer takes a picture from inside the well. The photograph depicts Marin falling on Link after landing on the ground in the well.

The photographer calls the picture Heads Up!.
4 The Travels of Link photo 4.png If Link and Marin stand at the Flying Rooster in Mabe Village, Tarin asks if they are taking pictures and squeezes in between them for the picture. The photographer instructs them to "say mushroom" and then takes a picture. From left to right, the photograph depicts Marin, Tarin, and Link. The photographer appears to have taken the picture from a slight distance, and Tarin is slightly more in front than Marin and Link.
5 The Travels of Link photo 5.png If Link walks up to Old Man Ulrira's House, the photographer comes up and takes a picture of Old Man Ulrira talking on the phone.

The photographer calls the picture Link Discovers Ulrira's Secret!
6 The Travels of Link photo 6.png After completing Bottle Grotto and returning BowWow to Madam MeowMeow, the photographer appears and instructs Link to get closer to BowWow for a picture. As Link gets closer, the BowWow gets more agitated before finally lunging at him.

The photographer calls the picture Link Plays With BowWow!.
7 The Travels of Link photo 7.png The photograph is taken if Link steals an item from the Town Tool Shop. The photographer is unseen at the time the picture is taken. The photograph is still added to The Travels of Link even if Link did not meet the photographer yet.
8 The Travels of Link photo 8.png During the trading sequence, if Link gives the fishing hook to the fisherman in Martha's Bay, the photographer appears swimming in the water beneath the boat. If Link talks to the fisherman, he tries to catch a fish but instead catches the photographer. The fisherman wants the photographer to take a picture of him and Link, who accidentally pushes the fisherman into the water. The photograph shows the fisherman in the water, with his head and hand sticking out. Link is in the background standing on the fisherman's boat and appearing to be worried.
9 The Travels of Link photo 9.png For the photographer to take the ninth photograph, Link must have the Magnifying Lens and visit the house in the northeast corner of Animal Village. Inside the house is a Zora who is only visible through the Magnifying Lens. When Link finds the Zora, the photographer appears and decides to take a picture of Link and the Zora. The photograph shows Link and the Zora both standing against the wall and with their feet in the water.

The photographer calls the picture I Found Zora.
10 The Travels of Link photo 10.png As Link is searching for the Golden Leaves, he can find the photographer standing against Kanalet Castle's closed gate. The photographer tells Link that the castle makes for a good photo. Richard then appears, asking Link if he found the Golden Leaves yet. Richard asks the photographer to take a picture of him and Link. The photograph shows Link and Richard standing at the castle gate, a slight distance away from where the photograph was taken. The photographer does not take a photograph if the castle gate is open.
11 The Travels of Link photo 11.png After Link returns the ghost to its grave in Koholint Prairie, the photographer appears and takes a picture of Link and the ghost. In the photograph, the two are standing at the gravestone, with ghost on the left side and Link on the right side. Both put their hand on the gravestone.

The photographer calls the picture I Was Very Afraid.
12 The Travels of Link photo 12.png The twelfth and last photograph is taken at the Tal Tal Mountain Range. As Link is crossing a bridge, the photographer appears and says that the scene perfectly represents Link's adventure. The photographer gets too close to the edge of the bridge and falls off by accident. The photographer takes a picture as he falls, and the photograph shows Link looking down from the bridge as the photographer falls. The bottom of the photograph shows a front leg, a back leg, and the tail of the photographer.

Before he falls, the photographer calls the picture Close Call.
