First appearance The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons (2001)

Frypolar is an elemental spirit who acts as the miniboss of the Sword & Shield Maze in The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons. It is able to switch between a fiery and an icy form, and at the beginning of the battle, it forms when two spirals of fire and ice intersect. When in its ice form, it can shoot an upwards-flaring fireball at Link, or two around him, and in its ice form, it can send out a shadow that spears up into a tall icy spike. After a few attacks, it switches forms, and can be made to do so at any time by hitting it with Mystery Seeds. To damage it, Link needs to hit it with the opposite element, after which it will switch forms. When in its ice form, it can simply be hit with Ember Seeds to cause a small amount of damage, but in its fire form, it is immune to Link's arsenal. It can still be damaged, however, by using a Mystery Seed on one of the spikes it summons in its icy form, shrinking it down into magical ice which can be thrown at the boss for a large amount of damage. After enough damage, Frypolar explodes.
