Syrup, also known as the Great Witch Syrup, Syrup the Witch, and Granny (by herself), is a potion-brewer and seller based on the similar witch from previous games. Her theme and original sprites are based specifically off those of the witch from The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening.
History[edit]
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons/Ages[edit]
In both The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages, Syrup is the teacher of Maple and operates out of her Potion shop, appearing in Sunken City in an area that can only be accessed in winter in the former and in Yoll Graveyard across a short-but-deep river in the latter. In both games, she sells Magic Potions, Gasha Seeds, and, once they have become available, Bombchu. In the former game, she cannot begin selling until Link gets her a Mushroom from Mt. Cucco (as Maple has not returned with one for her yet); as thanks, she gives him a Wooden Bird. She is also seen outside her Potion shop during the scene where Din sets the seasons back in order.
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap[edit]
In The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, Syrup sells from her hut in the northeast portion of the Minish Woods. She primarily sells blue potion, though a Kinstone Fusion with a certain Forest Minish prompts her to begin selling more powerful red potion as well. Additionally, she sells a single wake-up mushroom needed to wake the sleepy Rem.
