Pirate, The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons

The pirates (misspoken as "Piratians" by a Subrosian) are a group of skeletal seafarers in both The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages. They are led by Cap'n and have similar sprites to Gar and Dion from The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX. Despite being called pirates, they are never demonstrated to commit actual piracy and seem to act primarily as treasure hunters and adventurers.

History[edit]

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons[edit]

Prior to The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, the pirates ended up in Subrosia due to their ship sinking in a storm. Due to half of the ship ending up in Samasa Desert, some are sent there to look for Cap'n's missing bell, but the one who was searching ended up fallen apart in a sandstorm. Most of the pirates stay with Cap'n in the House of Pirates at Subrosia Cemetary until Link brings back the bell. Afterwards, they set sail, but due to how long they had been on land, they get seasick, prompting them to dock at the Western Coast. Three of them remain at the House of Pirates, not realizing everyone else left until later.

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages[edit]

In The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, the pirates have a smaller role, simply standing in their cabins as their ship travels in endless loops within the Sea of Storms, acting bored and resigned to their fate. Once Cap'n is spoken to and the Zora Scale is given to him, they do not appear for the rest of the game.
