Stockwell is a shopkeeper who appears in a few of the handheld The Legend of Zelda series titles, starting with The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages. He wears a light blue cloak, small glasses, a small light blue hat which is orange on top, and red shoes. Stockwell has a big, round nose and a black whisker-like mustache pointing downward.
History[edit]
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons / Oracle of Ages[edit]
In The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, Stockwell operates a shop in Horon Village and a shop in Lynna City, respectively. In both games, Stockwell also runs the Advance Shop, which is found at the same location in the respective game, and is only accessible if the game is played on a Game Boy Advance.
At the Horon Village Shop, Stockwell sells three items — Bombs, Hearts, and a Gasha Seed — and four pieces of equipment: a Wooden Shield, an Iron Shield, a Mirror Shield, and the Strange Flute. At Lynna City Shop, Stockwell has the same inventory, but does not sell the Strange Flute nor Gasha Seeds. Both shops have a bottom floor where Stockwell sells higher priced items, all of which can only be bought by Link one time. The bottom floor of Horon Village Shop has two Gasha Seeds, an upgrade to the Seed Satchel, and the Treasure Map. The bottom floor of Lynna City Shop has two Gasha Seeds, a Magic Ring, a Piece of Heart, and an L-2 Ring Box.
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap[edit]
In The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap runs a shop in Hyrule Town. There, he sells a variety of items, capacity upgrades, and equipment; the basic items include Bombs, Arrows, and Mysterious Shells, the capacity upgrades include the Wallet, the Bomb Bag, and the Quiver, and the equipment includes the Small Shield and the Boomerang.
Stockwell has a slightly larger role than in The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages. Stockwell owns a house near Lake Hylia, where he lives with his pet dog, Fifi. At one point, Fifi tells Link that Stockwell is too busy to feed her. There is a small sidequest where Link can feed Dog Food to Fifi, and in doing so, Link can keep the Empty Bottle.
There is a figurine of Stockwell at his shop, and it also shows Fifi eating dog food. According to the description, Stockwell is titled "Stockwell the Well-Stocked," revealing that his name is derived from "stock" and "well," suggesting that he has a good supply of inventory.
