- “I am the master diver! To become my pupil, go to the next cave and open all four eyes in a single stroke! And bring back proof that you have done so!”
- – Master Diver, The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons
The Master Diver (also written as master diver) is an elderly resident of Sunken City in The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons. Due to his old age, he has hidden his diving gear and left his wife and son, hiding himself in the cave at the top of the right of the town's two northern waterfalls. The cave can only be reached by riding Dimitri, and when spoken to, the Master Diver offers to let Link become his pupil after passing a test. Link needs to go to the left waterfall cave and hit four Eye Guards with one sword swing, and to do that he must push them into position and use a Spin Attack. After doing this, he obtains the Master's Plaque, and upon presenting this to the Master Diver, Link earns Zora's Flippers. He then tells Link of his secret diving spot, which leads to Mt. Cucco. The Master Diver's cave can only be revisited if Dimitri is Link's main partner.
At the end of an unlinked game, the Master Diver returns home and begins tutoring his son. If Link tells him the secret from his pupil in Labrynna from a linked Oracle of Ages game, he offers Link a gift after another test. Link needs to swim through a side-scrolling maze full of Cheep Cheeps to get a piece of Star-Shaped Ore in 30 seconds or less. If he does so, he wins the Swimmer's Ring.
