Biggoron's Sword is a large sword that appears in some of The Legend of Zelda games. It first appears in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. As the name suggests, Biggoron's Sword was handcrafted by Biggoron. The Biggoron's Sword is larger than the Master Sword, therefore giving it a longer reach. Due its weight and size, the Biggoron's Sword can only be carried with both hands. The Biggoron's Sword has a light blue handle. In most games, Link cannot use a shield while carrying Biggoron's Sword.

A similar sword named the Great Fairy's Sword appears in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. It functions the same, but it features a different design and is assigned to the C-buttons.

Appearances[edit]

The Legend of Zelda series[edit]

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time[edit]

In The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the Biggoron's Sword is nearly identical to the Giant's Knife, even having the same Item Subscreen icon, but the only difference is that the Biggoron's Sword does not break. Both swords can only be used when Link is an adult. The Biggoron's Sword is an optional weapon that Link can obtain by completing the trading quest. The Biggoron's Sword is made from the Broken Goron's Sword, which Biggoron only agrees to repair if Link gives the World's Finest Eyedrops to him. It takes three days for Biggoron to forge the Broken Goron's Sword into the Biggoron's Sword.

The Biggoron's Sword can be used during the final battle against Ganon, even in the part where the Master Sword is outside the arena. Overall, the Master Sword is the only weapon that can defeat Ganon entirely.

When sheathed, the Biggoron's Sword looks the same as the Master Sword despite its entirely different appearance. This was corrected in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D.

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons/Ages[edit]

In both The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, the Biggoron's Sword can be obtained from a linked game from either game. If Link equips the Biggoron's Sword, it uses both item slots, which represents Link using both hands to carry it.

In a linked game for The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, Link can learn the Elder Secret from Goron Mountain, which can be relayed into The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages. There, Link must go to Rolling Ridge during the past and play a Goron Gallery game, where he must use Biggoron's Sword. If he wins the mini-game, Link is rewarded with Biggoron's Sword, and a secret is provided to relay the Biggoron's Sword back into The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons.

In a linked game for The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, Link can learn Biggoron's Secret at Rolling Ridge during the present. The secret must be relayed to The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, where Link must go to Goron Mountain at talk to Biggoron, who rewards the Biggoron's Sword to Link. A secret is provided for Biggoron's Sword to be sent back into The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild[edit]

In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Biggoron's Sword is a weapon that can be obtained by scanning an amiibo of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Link. The Biggoron's Sword breaks after frequent use, similar to the Giant's Knife in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Its base attack power is at 50, and its base durability is at 60.

Soulcalibur II[edit]

In Soulcalibur II, the Biggoron's Sword is an unlockable weapon used by Link. It can be unlocked by paying 4,000 gold. Unlike other appearances, Link holds the Biggoron's Sword with one hand. The sword is paired with the Hylian Shield, which Link holds in his other hand. The Biggoron's Sword increases Link's attack to 130% and has a longer reach than the other swords. However, each use takes away a few points of Link's health.

Hyrule Warriors[edit]

In Hyrule Warriors, the Biggoron's Sword is the level 3 weapon of Impa's Giant Blade moveset. Unlike earlier appearances, the Biggoron's Sword has a curved blade.
