The Mermaid Key is a red key that unlocks Mermaid's Cave in the past in The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages. It is shaped like the lower half of a mermaid's body. Link can obtain the Mermaid Key by completing the Goron Dance in the present.
A variation of the key, the Old Mermaid Key, can be obtained by completing the Big Bang Game the first time. The Old Mermaid Key is also obtained during the present, although it unlocks the Mermaid's Cave in the present. The Old Mermaid Key has a similar appearance except its sprite is blue.
