Pumpkin Head is the first boss of The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, appearing in the Spirit's Grave. It is a small orange spirit that hides between a large blue body and an enormous jack-o'-lantern. When Link enters its room, its three sections fall from the ceiling, and it begins walking around the room randomly. When Link gets in front of it, it may attack with either a spread shot of three energy balls or by leaping after him two or three times in a row. Pumpkin Head's body can be knocked down with a few sword swings, causing the pumpkin to fall to the ground temporarily. From here, Link can use the Power Bracelet to lift the pumpkin, exposing the spirit, which quickly flees. It can be attacked with the sword or by throwing the pumpkin, but regardless of what he does, it will quickly return to the pumpkin if not defeated, regenerating the body again and starting the process to expose the spirit over. The spirit only takes a small amount of damage before being destroyed.
