Ordon Goats are animals from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. They are domesticated goats from the Ordona Province. They have blue fur and a single circular horn. The Ordon Shield features a design based on an Ordon Goat's horn, and the Ordon Sword is infused with Ordon Goat horns.
History[edit]
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess[edit]
In The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Ordon Village's residents rely heavily on their milk, especially to produce Ordon Goat Cheese. To the north of the village is Ordon Ranch, where Fado raises Ordon Goats. Some of the villagers also use an Ordon Goat's horn to decorate their homes, as many are seen on signs and roofs. Some Ordon Goats can also be found in a stable in Hyrule Castle Town, near the STAR Game tent. There is also a photograph of an Ordon Goat in Link's House, and it is on the wall of the first floor.
Before embarking on a journey, Link has a job of helping Fado on the ranch. On Ordon Ranch, there is a Goat Herding minigame in which the goal is for Link to herd a certain number of Ordon Goats back into the barn. Here, Ordon Goats be seen and interacted with during any time of the day. Link can optionally pet an Ordon Goat, which then lets out a small bleat. This has no effect on gameplay. Link also has the option to grab an Ordon Goat by its horns and flip it over. As a result, the Ordon Goat becomes angry and suddenly begins to glow red. The Ordon Goat goes on a stampede to try to attack Link and knock him to the ground. Even if this occurs, Link does not take any damage.
Ordon Goats are scared of Wolf Link, and are one of the few animals that he cannot interact with. Many Ordon Goats run away from Wolf Link if comes near them, although there are a few who try and attack him. The Ordon Goats of Hyrule Castle Town do not react to Wolf Link, presumably because each of them are locked within their stable.
Link's Crossbow Training[edit]
In Link's Crossbow Training, Ordon Goats appear in the Ranch Target Practice stage, where Link has to rescue them from being stolen by Bokoblins. Link must shoot the Bokoblins riding them without hitting the goats.
