Dead Hand's Hands

Dead Hands are paranormal minibosses in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, appearing in both the bottom of the Well and the Shadow Temple. Dead Hands appear to be pale, bruised masses of rotting flesh with a vaguely humanoid shape, but with a long neck and no legs. They control a large amount of long, disembodied arms that surround areas they inhabit, with the one in the well having four and the one in the Shadow Temple having six.

Dead Hands hide underground until Link is grabbed by one of their hands, at which point they will erupt from the floor and slowly make their way over to him with their heads far in the air, immune to any attacks. When close enough, they move their heads down slowly and start trying to bite him. When their heads are down, they can be attacked, though after enough damage, they become invulnerable again, turn away, and move a small amount before burrowing back into the ground. They can be made to come out again in the same way as before, and after enough hits are defeated. Aside from being grabbed, Link can also make them come out by bombing their location as they move around underground, though without the Lens of Truth, the location will not be marked and as such cannot be effectively done for their first battle in the original game.

In Master Quest, an additional Dead Hand is found late in the Shadow Temple. Rather than having a collection of hands, this one is triggered by blowing up the Bomb Flowers in its room.
