The Weird Egg is a Cucco egg and an item that appears in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Link can obtain the item as a child, by talking to Malon at the start of the path to Hyrule Castle. She gives him the Weird Egg to wake up her father, Talon. Like most items, the player can assign the Weird Egg to one of the C-buttons from the inventory. The Weird Egg hatches into a Cucco at dawn the next day after Link obtained the egg. When Link finds Talon behind Hyrule Castle, he must use it to wake him up. Before hatching, the Weird Egg does not have any effect.

The Weird Egg is very similar to the Pocket Egg, even having the same appearance. The Pocket Egg is the first item of the trading sequence, and it hatches into a Pocket Cucco instead of a Cucco.
