- “You got the Golden Scale! Jump into the water and press . Now you can dive much deeper than you could before!”
- – The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time description
The Golden Scale, also known as the Gold Scale,[1] is an item in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time that allows Link to dive underwater for up to nine seconds. It is obtained from the man in Lake Hylia's Fishing Pond if adult Link catches a fish weighing at least 15 pounds. It is an upgrade to the Silver Scale, which allows Link to dive for up to six seconds, and it replaces it once obtained.
The Golden Scale is required to obtain a Piece of Heart in the Lakeside Laboratory, which the Lake Scientist gives to Link if he dives to the bottom of the pool.
In Hyrule Warriors, the Golden Scale is one of the Zora Scales that Ruto can equip.
