Anubises are mummified jackal enemies found only in the Spirit Temple in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, named for the Egyptian god of the same name. They float in the air and copy Link's movements in reverse when they see him. Most of his weapons will not effectively damage them but rather temporarily knock them backwards. Additionally, when Link swings a weapon like his sword when one is copying him, it will shoot a quick fireball at him. The only way to effectively defeat them is by burning them. Usually, when one appears, the room will have a ring of flames on the ground somewhere, usually activated by a switch, allowing Link to lead them into it to defeat them, though this is not always the case in Master Quest. Alternatively, Din's Fire or a Fire Arrow can work.
