Goriyas, also known as Mimics,[1] are jackal-like enemies (described by Nintendo Power as "giant rats") that copy Link's every move in reverse.

History[edit]

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past[edit]

In The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Goriyas are found in the Palace of Darkness and Ganon's Tower. Green Goriyas simply copy Link, but red ones shoot a fireball whenever Link makes eye contact with one and are also immune to his sword. In the original game, they can be found in a specific cave in Death Mountain in Hyrule, but the Game Boy Advance reissue replaced them with Rocklopses, making them Dark World-exclusive.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds[edit]

In The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Goriyas appear in the Dark Palace, where two groups of two green and one red Goriyas are fought in the dark as minibosses. They act essentially the same as before, though as with Link, they can now face more directions.
