Zelda's Letter is an item that appears in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It is a letter written by Princess Zelda, whose signature is on the back of the letter.
Link obtains Zelda's Letter when he first meets Zelda in the Castle Courtyard. After obtaining it, Link must go to Kakariko Village and present it to a guard who blocks others from entering Death Mountain Trail. When Link shows Zelda's Letter to him, the guards reads it: "This is Link... He is under my orders to save Hyrule." The guard laughs, believing it to be a game, and he allows Link to enter but urges him to be careful. The gate to Death Mountain Trail stays open for the rest of Link's adventure.
