Gyorm
First appearance The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (2013)
Latest appearance The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes (2015)

Gyorms are creatures resembling both conches and seals. They fly around in propeller-bottomed shells that are impenetrable to all attacks, including bombs. They normally fly around oblivious to Link, but if he removes one from its shell, it will immediately attempt to return to it. The shell can be picked up and thrown, and if he disposes of the shell, the Gyorm will angrily pursue him. Gyorms will not go into another one's dropped shell, and if either the Gyorm or shell falls into water, it will disappear.

History[edit]

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds[edit]

In The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Gyorms appear in the Swamp Palace. They can be pulled from their shells with the Hookshot. The shells remain once the Gyorm is defeated, provided it hasn't fallen into the water first.

The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes[edit]

In The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes, Gyorms appear in the Cove of Transition and the Flooded Zone of the Den of Trials. They are removed from their shells with the Gripshot, and when the Gyorm is defeated, the shell vanishes.
