Snap Dragons are mobile carnivorous plants that hop around quickly and can deal large amounts of damage with their powerful jaws. They are named for the flower of the same name.

History[edit]

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past[edit]

Snap Dragon ALttP sprite.png

In The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Snap Dragons are a common overworld enemy in the Dark World. They move in erratic diagonal patterns, occasionally going after Link if he is nearby. Their artwork depicts them as yellow with green leaves as well as eyes, though their sprites in-game give them light tan skin, purple leaves, and no eyes. According to the Japanese manual, they evolved from plants, with western manuals additionally calling them "a result of a mad alchemist's plant experiments."

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds[edit]

In The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Snap Dragons appear in Lorule and act essentially the same as before. Their appearance in this game is based off their sprites rather than their artwork, and as such they have purple leaves and no eyes. Additionally, their feet have two clawed toes, unlike the featureless boot-like feet they were shown with before.
