Variant of Bubble

Giant Bubbles[1] are an enormous counterpart to Bubbles that bounces around rooms.

History

Zelda II: The Adventure of Link

Giant Bubble ZII sprite.png

In Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, Giant Bubbles appear as giant horned skulls surrounded by flame and appear solely in the Great Palace. Like normal Bubbles, they bounce diagonally off the room's surfaces. Attacking them three times causes them to split into two normal Bubbles, though if Link attacks it more before it can split the two new Bubbles will be defeated automatically, albeit without giving any experience points.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening

In The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, Giant Bubbles now look completely different from ordinary Anti-Faeries, appearing as a giant ball of energy with eyes. They still bounce diagonally around side-scrolling rooms, though they move slower and only appear in the Face Shrine. They are completely invulnerable and deal a full heart of damage on contact. In Link's Awakening DX and the remake, they are tinted green.
