- – Facade, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
Facade, alternatively spelled as Façade and also known as Face Mat is a giant, flexible, hollow face that appears in the stone floor of the room it inhabits. He can only be damaged by exploding bombs over his face when he is visible. When his eyes and mouth are closed, he can be neither seen nor damaged, so he usually only appears to attack.
History[edit]
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening[edit]
In The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, Facade is the boss of the Face Shrine and is depicted as often saying more than he should, nearly telling Link his weakness as soon as he walks into his room. Facade primarily attacks by causing flying tiles and flying pots to shoot at Link as well as opening medium-sized holes in the floor. Once Facade is beaten, he bluntly tells Link that all of Koholint Island is part of the Wind Fish's dream, meaning that if he wakes everything on it will disappear. Facade then explodes and opens the way to the Coral Triangle.
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons[edit]
In The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, Façade is the miniboss of Snake's Remains, later appearing as a generic enemy in Onox's Castle. He no longer speaks whatsoever and his only returning attack is creating holes, which in the first battle he generally only does after a large amount of damage. He has two new attacks, being summoning four Beetles from the ceiling via a tremor and spitting out several fireballs to rain down across the room.
