Spiked Thwomps[1] are a variation of Thwomp. They appear as obstacles in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages. Spiked Thwomps have one large eye and a few spikes on each side except the top, which is a flat surface that can be used as a platform. Like regular Thwomps, Spiked Thwomps are found at the top of a ceiling, awaiting Link to pass by, and when he approaches a Spiked Thwomp, it falls down in an attempt to squish him. A Spiked Thwomp's eye looks in whichever direction Link is at. From a certain height, Link can use the Roc's Feather to jump onto a Spiked Thwomp. Sometimes Link has to stand on a Spiked Thwomp to reach higher areas. Even while Link is standing on a Spiked Thwomp, it continuously falls and rises.
Like other Thwomps, Spiked Thwomps can only be found in side scrolling areas. In The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, Spiked Thwomps appear in Angler's Tunnel and Catfish's Maw. In The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, they appear in the Snake's Remains, and in The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, Spiked Thwomps appear in Wing Dungeon.
In The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle and Ages, Spiked Thwomps are blue unlike The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening and its remakes, in which they are gray.
