The Roc's Feather, alternatively formatted as Roc's feather, is an item that gives Link the ability to jump. It first appears in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. If Link uses the Pegasus Boots or Pegasus Seeds with the Roc's Feather, he can jump a farther distance, allowing him to cross wider pits.
Appearances[edit]
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening[edit]
In The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, the Roc's Feather is located in the Tail Cave. In various sidescrolling areas, Link must use the Roc's Feather to get across to the other side. He can also jump on Goombas to defeat them like Mario from the Super Mario series. With the Roc's Feather, Link can also jump at winged items to collect them.
In Tail Cave, Link is required to equip the Roc's Feather for when he battles both Spike Roller and the Moldorm boss. This way, Link can jump over the rolling pin and Moldorm during the respective boss fights.
The Roc's Feather is pink in original artwork, brown in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX, and orange-yellow in the Nintendo Switch remake. In other appearances, the Roc's Feather is blue.
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons[edit]
In The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, the Roc's Feather is found in the Poison Moth's Lair. The game features springboards, which Link can jump on using the Roc's Feather. Sometime during the game, the Strange Brothers steal the Roc's Feather. Link must follow the Strange Brothers, without them noticing, until they bury the Roc's Feather beneath the ground. Link must use a shovel to dig out and reobtain the Roc's Feather.
The game introduces the Roc's Cape, which is an upgrade over the Roc's Feather. When Link obtains the Roc's Cape, it replaces the Roc's Feather.
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages[edit]
In The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, the Roc's Feather is located in a sidescrolling area of the Wing Dungeon. The Roc's Feather has the same purpose as in The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, with the only difference being that the Roc's Cape upgrade does not appear.
