History
The Legend of Zelda series
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
In The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Biris are red and solely appear split from red Onoffs. They float around slowly, occasionally stopping to emit electricity, just like their larger form.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
In The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Biris are only found in inside Jabu-Jabu's Belly, where they are parasites of Lord Jabu-Jabu. In this appearance, Biris far outnumber Baris, which split into three Baris upon defeat. Biris are usually found free-floating in the air and are constantly electrified, and as such can be fought most effectively with the Boomerang. Before it is obtained, they can instead be defeated with a Spin Attack, bombs, or by first stunning one with a Deku Nut, causing it to fall and lose its charge temporarily.
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages
In The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, Biris only appear in Mermaid Suit sections. They usually only appear from defeated Baris in pairs, though in the Ancient Tomb some appear automatically on the field. Unlike Baris, they no longer emit electricity.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
In The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Biris look and act as they do in A Link to the Past, now appearing in three colors depending on what they split from. Red and yellow Biris can be split in pairs from Baris of the same color, and yellow and purple ones can be split in groups of fifteen from a defeated Gigabari.
Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer featuring The Legend of Zelda
In Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer featuring The Legend of Zelda, Biris appear wholly independent from Baris, being blue or yellow depending on strength. They only appear in caves and dungeons and move diagonally in diamond-shaped patterns to the beat of the music, reversing their path when they collide with something. As usual, they additionally charge with electricity periodically, alternating every four beats.
